A webinar on ‘2021 Budget and Construction Industry’ organised by the Ceylon Institute of Builders, will be held on Wednesday (9 December) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Managing Director Eng. Major Ranjith Gunatilleke, Chamber of Construction SL CEO Eng. Nissanka Wijeratne, Maga Construction Ltd. Chairman Capt. M.G. Kularatne, CIOB Advisor and MD Q Serve Ltd. Prof. Chitra Weddikkara, Ceylon Institute of Builders Secretary Eng. Saliya Kaluarachchi, and CIOB Vice President and Sripalie Contractors Ltd. MD Ruwan de Silva will participate in the webinar. CIOB President Dr. Rohan Karunaratne said: “We are organising this webinar to educate those in the field about how the 2021 Budget will affect the construction industry. The construction industry is the most important sector of the country's economy. The construction industry can contribute about 10% to Sri Lanka's GDP. The number of people directly and indirectly dependent on this industry is around one million. Money in the construction industry circulates between all classes of society, from the lowest to the highest.”
