CMA Sri Lanka launches Certified Management Accountant E-Journal

CMA Sri Lanka President Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala launches the CMA Management Accountant E-Journal August issue on the theme ‘COVID-19 Pandemic – Business and Professional Challenges’ in the presence of Vice President Hennayake Bandara, Journal Committee, Chairman Adrian Perera, Council Members Kumari Wijewardhana, J.M.U.B. Jayasekara, Ruchira Perera, CEO Damitha Narangoda, Consultants Kosala Dissanayake and L.B. Wattegedara, Director Shanthi Maheswaran and Senior Director and Journal Committee Secretary Sumudu Pagoda


The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA) launched its Certified Management Accountant E-Journal on 30 September. CMA Sri Lanka is the national professional management accounting body in Sri Lanka incorporated by Parliament Act No. 23 of 2009 and recognised both locally and internationally.

The main article and cover page features the Head of the COVID-19 Presidential Task Force Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva, Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, who was appointed by President to establish the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Pandemic, and their role in controlling the pandemic.

International Federation of Accountants CEO Kevin Dancey is also featured on the cover page representing the global accounting profession of which body CMA Sri Lanka is a member highlighting in his article ‘COVID Makes Clear Why We need To Improve Corporate Reporting’ in this connection.

CMA Sri Lanka has organised the CMA Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards 2020 to recognise companies that have prepared their annual report despite the COVID-19 pandemic and provided valuable information to its stakeholders in the new normal. The CMA Sri Lanka COVID-19 SME Development Committee is another new step taken to support SMEs impacted by COVID-19 and to assist those in difficulties.

Being the National Professional Management Accounting body in Sri Lanka, CMA Sri Lanka is confident that the CMA Management Accountant Journal will provide contemporary and high quality articles of benefit not only to its membership but also to the corporate world and Government institutions to achieve growth and development in the next normal.
