The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI), the pioneering chamber for industries in the country, has organised a webinar on Government Budget 2022 and Tax Amnesty (Finance Act No.18 of 2021). The webinar will be held on 25 November from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. via Zoom.
As announced by the Minister of Finance in his Budget speech, the country is currently passing the most difficult period in its recent economic history due to five main reasons inclusive of such global pandemic threat. As he pointed out, we have the strength to come out of this recession.
In the world of industry, irrespective of fields, levels and volumes; almost all industries are becoming operationally unhealthy. All their operational plans badly need strategic review. The National Budget 2022 recently presented to the Parliament has a number of important proposals applicable to the industrial sector which have to be used as decision making tools for your strategic business plan.
The first part of the session will focus on highlights of the Government Budget 2022 and Tax Amnesty. Tax Amnesty highlights and planning of amnesty declaration will be discussed based on the ‘Finance Act No. 18 of 2021’. All the important areas of the Tax Amnesty Act will be covered. The first part of the webinar will be conducted by Asset Advisory Partners Ltd. Managing Director and Ranaweera Associates Partner Athula Ranaweera.
The second part of the session is a panel discussion along with Q&A session. Inland Revenue Department Deputy Commissioner General D.R.S. Hapuarachchi, Asset Advisory Partners Ltd. Managing Director Athula Ranaweera, CNCI Chairman and Aqua Packaging Ltd. CEO Canisius Fernando and CNCI Deputy Chairman and EB Creasy & Company PLC CEO Logistics Kevin Edwards will join the panel discussion. The discussion will be moderated by CNCI Treasurer and Cal Exports Lanka Ltd. CEO Amil Sugathapala.
