Germany’s Lufthansa Technik AG has won the contract to repair CFM Leap-1A engines of national carrier – SriLankan Airlines Airbus A320neo.

Cabinet had cleared recommendations by the Cabinet-appointed Special Standing Procurement Committee to Lufthansa Technik AG after receiving three responses.

Proposals were called in line with the limited international bidding procedure to select SriLankan Airlines engine repair services.

“Three CFM Leap-1A engines will be repaired under the contract,” Cabinet Co-Spokesman and Minister Bandula Gunawardena said at the post-Cabinet meeting media briefing.

The proposal to this effect tabled by Ports, Shipping and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on Monday.
