Careems Jewellers wins ‘Best Gold Jewellery Craftsman’

Careems Jewellers Master Craftsman Sarath Kumara Kiriella won the ‘Best Gold Jewellery Craftsman Award’at the Presidential Awards Ceremony 2018, held to commemorate the Silver Jubilee Anniversary of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority of Sri Lanka.

Born in Horana, Sarath inherited his love for jewellery craftsmanship from his father. Learning from his father, Sarath was passionate about pursuing a career as a goldsmith, which he began in 1986. He then came to Careems, where he has now been for 20 years. 

The award was a result of hard work, skill, and Sarath’s devotion to his craft. 

He commented: “Skill is important, but it is more important to be humble. Another factor which helped me achieve this success is the support, help, and advice of the management and staff of Careem Jewellers.”
