Ceylinco Life  Family Savari with carnival in Kurunegala

More than 1,600 people from all over Sri Lanka’s Wayamba Province come together recently in a first-of-its-kind congregation that had one dominant objective–unbridled family fun at the expense of Ceylinco Life, the country’s biggest life insurer.

The prototype ‘Family Savari Carnival’ at the Udawalpola Grounds in Kurunegala, was an extension of the Company’s ‘Family Savari’ concept, under which more than 26,000 Sri Lankans have enjoyed overseas and local family holidays over the past 12 years, and another 2,620 people will benefit this year in addition to the 1,600 that attended the Carnival.

Open to Ceylinco Life policyholders, their family members and special invitees of Ceylinco Life branches in the area, the Carnival in Kurunegala was attended by people from Kurunegala, Alawwa, Anamaduwa, Galgamuwa, Kuliyapitiya, Melsiripura, Maho, Nikaweratiya, Narammala, Panduwasnuwara, Pannala, Wariyapola and Mawathagama.

For entertainment, Ceylinco Life provided a mini merry-go-round, mini train rides, jet rides, bouncy castles, digital and virtual reality games, balloon darts, a magic show, face painting, live cartoon characters, art and craft, and free candy floss and popcorn, all the ingredients of a day at the carnival. A band was in attendance with a stage and lights to provide the carnival atmosphere, and families who participated in various games won or were runners-up for attractive prizes.

“Ceylinco Life is one huge family of a million lives protected with life insurance from the company, and our ‘Family Savari’ promotions have provided a strong demonstration of the value of families spending time together,” Ceylinco Life Managing Director Thushara Ranasinghe said.

“This promotion has also helped foster amity and unity across geographical, racial, religious and socio-economic divides, fully justifying not just our continuing investment in it, but in extending its reach through carnivals of this nature,” he added. He said Ceylinco Life plans to replicate the Kurunegala carnival in other districts as well.

The largest and longest-running promotion in Sri Lanka’s insurance sector, the Ceylinco Life ‘Family Savari’ promotion has seen grand-prize winning families visit Australia, Italy, England, Germany, Switzerland, Japan and France, while other winners have toured China, Dubai and Singapore. In addition, thousands of families have been provided a day’s outing at the Leisure World theme park.

The market leader in Sri Lanka’s life insurance industry for 16 of the 32 years it has been in operation, Ceylinco Life has close to a million lives covered by active policies and is acknowledged as a benchmark in the local insurance industry for innovation, product research and development, customer service, professional development and corporate social responsibility.

Ceylinco Life was adjudged as Sri Lanka’s most valuable life insurance brand by Brand Finance in 2019, ranked among the ‘10 Most Admired Companies’ in the country by the ICCSL in the same year, named the ‘Best Life Insurer’ in Sri Lanka for the sixth consecutive year in 2019 by World Finance, and has also been declared the ‘most popular life insurance company’ in the country for the past 13 years by SLIM-Nielsen.
