Diversified entity, the Colombo Fort Land & Building PLC has announced several changes at the top with new Chairman and Vice Chairman.
The company said Alagarajah Rajaratnam has relinquished his position as Chairman with effect from 30 June. This post he held since November 2021. However, he will continue to serve on the Board of CFLB as a Non-Executive Director.
S.D.R. Arudpragasam who functioned as Deputy Chairman has been appointed Chairman (Non-Executive) with effect from 1 July. C.P.R. Perera who functions as an Independent Non-Executive Director has been appointed Deputy Chairman with effect from 1 July.
The Colombo Fort Land & Building has interests in Industrial Products, Consumer Products, Leisure, Plantations, Property Rental, Motors, Services, Investments and Manufacturing.
With the latest changes the Board of Colombo Fort Land & Building comprises Chairman S.D.R. Arudpragasam, Deputy Chairman C.P.R. Perera, Group Managing Director Anushman Rajaratnam, Ajit Jayaratne, R. Seevaratnam, P.M.A. Sirimane, S. Rajaratnam and A. Rajaratnam.
S.D.R. Arudpragasam, being associated with the Colombo Fort Land & Building Group of companies since 1982, joined the Board of The Colombo Fort Land & Building PLC (CFLB) in the year 2000. He was appointed Deputy Chairman in November 2011 and as Chairman with effect from 1 July.
He serves as Chairman of several subsidiaries of the Colombo Fort Land & Building PLC including Chairman of Lankem Ceylon PLC and Chairman/Managing Director of E.B. Creasy & Company PLC, in addition to serving on the Boards of other companies in CFLB Group.
C.P.R. Perera was appointed to the Board of the Colombo Fort Land & Building PLC (CFLB) in May 2013 and as Deputy Chairman with effect from 1 July. He serves on the Boards of several subsidiaries of CFLB Group and also holds directorships in other private and public companies.
He retired as Chairman of Forbes & Walker Ltd. and its subsidiary companies in June 2005 after almost 44 years of service. He is also a past Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tea Board, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, PERC and Bank of Ceylon.
Perera having held the Office of Chairman of Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC until 1 April to serve as a Non-Executive Director of the said company. Perera has served as a Committee Member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the Planters Association of Ceylon, and on the Committee of Management of the Ceylon Planters Provident Society.
