Chinese firm gets power contract by Govt.

The China Machinery Engineering Corporation has been selected by the Government for the Power System Reliability Strengthening Project of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), following competitive bids.

The select Chinese company will design, supply and install transmission lines and sections under the Package No. 04 of the Power System Reliability Strengthening Project funded by the ADB.

The proposal to this effect submitted by Power Minister Gamini Lokuge was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on Monday.
