My Dream Academy, inaugurated by Santhosh Narayan in the Jaffna district, offers free computer education for 1,000 students via DP Campus.
The educational institution named “DP IT Campus” has been established in Jaffna, providing free computer learning for young students.
The first My Dream Academy in the district is set to benefit approximately 1,200 students yearly, encompassing Jaffna, Nallur, and Kopai Regional Secretariat units. The Campus will be open 16 hours daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
This comprehensive curriculum, developed in collaboration with various platforms such as Code.org, Thunkable, Microbit, Pictoblox, and Glitch, covers over 300 standard courses. Upon completion of each of the 8 syllabi, students will receive internationally accredited certificates.
Successful students in these programs will be granted the opportunity to pursue advanced studies in collaboration with Moratuwa University of Sri Lanka, Ruhunu University, and Kelaniya University.
Every student will have access to this Rs. 2.5 million worth educational program entirely free of charge, as the project’s aim is to produce 1 million software engineers nationwide.
My Dream Academy will play a crucial role in our quest to regain the top spot in education, fostering Jaffna District students to become proficient in technology and grooming them into global professionals.
Commencing its journey on 22 October 2021, My Dream Academy aims to enhance the education quality of the Jaffna district and achieve the goal of reclaiming the top position in education.
As part of this mission, the official inauguration of the fully free coding program took place at the Nallur Sangilian Forum, fostering the development of computer knowledge among the students and youth of the Jaffna district.
Jaffna and Kilinochchi District MP Angajan Ramanathan along with representatives from various parliamentary groups, graced the event as the Chief Guests. Accompanying them were renowned South Indian Musician and Singer Santhosh Narayanan and his wife Meenakshi, as well as the Jaffna University Vice Chancellor Sivakozhundu Sri Sarkunaraja.
Jaffna Municipality Commissioner E.T. Jayaseelan also attended the event as a special guest, providing valuable advice to the students.
