Deepal appointed to Kelani Cables Board

Top professional Deepal Sooriyaarachchi has been appointed to the Board of Kelani Cables PLC as a Non-Executive Independent Director.

He fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Dr. L.J. Ranjith Cabraal.

Sooriyaarachchi counts over 30 years’ experience in sales, advertising, marketing, human resources development and strategy with extensive experience in the field of insurance.

He is a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK and a Chartered Marketer, Fellow Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and is a pioneer in disseminating management knowledge in Sinhala.

He is also a leading management development consultant and author and an Accredited Master Coach and Master Mentor.

He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of AIA Insurance Lanka Ltd., Panasian Power PLC, Singer Sri Lanka PLC and Hemas Manufacturing Ltd.

He served on the Board of Sampath Bank PLC as an Independent Non-Executive Director since August 2010, holding the positions of Chairman Marketing and HR sub committees and a member of Audit Committee. He is the Past President of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, Managing Director Aviva NDB Insurance PLC, Commissioner - Sri Lanka Inventors’ Commission, Consulting Partner - RBL Group USA.

With the latest changes the Board of Kelani Cables PLC comprises of U.G. Madanayake (Chairman), H.A.S. Madanayake (Deputy Chairman), M. Saranapala (CEO/Executive Director), N.C. Madanayake, B. Perera and D. Sooriyaarachchi.
