At this week’s tea auction held on 4 January, an invoice of BOP1 Grade from Delmar Estate – Halgranoya secured an all-time Colombo tea auction record price of Rs. 960 per kg in the Uda Pussellawa Category.
This tea was purchased by Vintage Teas Ltd., who is a leading exporter of quality tea. This was sold through the catalogue of Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd. Delmar is one of the larger tea factories in the Uda Pussellawa region, and is managed by Uda Pussellawa Plantations PLC, which recently changed hands to Browns Plantations Ltd.
