Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC, the nation’s lubricant market leader since 1992, has achieved new heights of product development and technology. Delo took a monumental step forward in the lubricant market by proving an oil drain interval of 30,000 kilometres providing heavy duty diesel engine vehicle owners with extended service intervals and a plethora of other benefits.

In 2020, Delo underwent a trial in Sri Lanka with reputed local fleet operators – Freight Link and Auto Ezone, carrying out biweekly tests on vehicles with single oil drain through an independent test lab in Singapore, whose results proved the 30,000km mileage on two test cycles.

Using ISOSYN technology, Delo has utilised the expertise and experience to develop top tier products that combine premium base oils with high-performance additives to deliver protection to engine parts, granting Delo users ostensibly unmatched performance advantage of 30,000 kilometres on single oil drain, extended engine protection, confidence, durability and savings.

This innovative technological advancement in product development will help grant businesses a stronghold in these uncertain times by enhancing savings potentially of up to 17% through maintenance, service and operational cost reductions, supporting corporate, small and medium sized fleet operators to overcome the difficult economic conditions that the country is currently facing.

This development will help increase availability, reliability and durability of vehicles for fleet operators, enabling them to operate vehicles on the road whilst minimising service downtime and breakdowns, increasing the ability of engines to withstand damages and generate more income.  Furthermore, this development is expected to encourage sustainability through the extended drain intervals, which may then lead to reduced disposal of used oil and help provide vital support to promote environmental protection.

Commenting on the venture, Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC Managing Director and CEO Najam Shamsuddin stated: “We have always focused on providing our customers with the best products to protect their vehicles and thereby enable them to gain the maximum benefits. We understand the pain points of fleet operators and have worked hard to ease the issues related to them. We are fully committed to support the industry and are gearing up to become the total Fleet operations solution provider with bumper-to-bumper services, appropriate trainings and cloud-based logistics solutions to enhance and elevate the logistics and fleet operations business sector.”

Fleet operators and logistics businesses are expected to experience positive benefits when they utilise Delo products for their vehicle needs. With a 30,000 kilometre single oil drain, it is anticipated that businesses will be able to achieve a considerable reduction in operational costs related to maintenance and servicing. Furthermore, this will help organisations to better manage risks and maximise profits, whilst reducing the negative impact on the environment. The reduced oil change frequency is expected, in turn, to positively impact the service labour utilisation, filter changes, operations downtime and expenditure on mechanics.

Elaborating further, Shamsuddin commented: “As a responsible corporate citizen, at Chevron, we are committed to contribute and elevate the local communities where we operate. Therefore, we are constantly working on new innovations to enhance and develop our products in a manner that will provide benefit both businesses and the community.”

In a new technological advancement, Delo has enhanced their offering by introducing a calculator which will enable users to calculate the cost benefit that is associated with the utilisation of Delo products. Visit the Chevron website to access this calculator feature and learn how you can achieve increased benefits.

As a value-added service, Delo has launched a premium service facility for its valued customers through a fleet help service team, who will be able to address all fleet related concerns.
