Doombagastalawa Tea Factory surpasses own record

Doombagastalawa Estate, situated in the Nawalapitiya/Kothmale agro-climatic sub district at an elevation of 1,239 metres, achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 1,000 per kg for a Western Medium BOP SP grade at the weekly tea auctions held on 20 April. This line of tea was marketed by M/s. Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. who exclusively markets Doombasgastalawa teas and purchased by M/s. Akbar Brothers Ltd.

This tea factory is managed by Kahawatte Plantations PLC and is UTZ, ISO 22000:2005, HACCP, UTZ, ETP, FSC certified. Doombagastalawa Estate has been consistently manufacturing high-quality light liquoring teas.
