Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC, has announced the appointment of Dr. M. Nilupul Perera, a distinguished Consultant Neuro Physician, as its new Chairman.

Dr. Perera brings over 18 years of extensive clinical experience to this leadership role. Throughout his illustrious career, he has served in prominent hospitals across Sri Lanka, including Base Hospital Gampola, Teaching Hospital Peradeniya, Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital, Institute of Neurology at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Teaching Hospital Kurunegala, and General Hospital Anuradhapura.

In addition to his contributions to local healthcare, Dr. Perera has garnered international experience during his tenure in Australia. He worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at the National Stroke Research Institute in Victoria and provided clinical services at Austin Health Hospital. His academic contributions include serving as a Clinical Tutor and Examiner at the University of Melbourne and publishing research papers that have gained recognition in Australia.

Dr. Perera is not only a reputed clinician but also a passionate advocate for community healthcare initiatives. He has spearheaded community-based projects in Sri Lanka, fostering greater awareness and access to quality healthcare. His dedication to education is evident through his role as a visiting lecturer at the Nurses Training School in Kandy and the University of Moratuwa.

Dr. Perera holds an MBBS degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, and a Doctor of Medicine qualification from the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Sri Lanka. An alumnus of Ananda College, Colombo, he epitomises a blend of academic brilliance and professional excellence.
