EXPO 2020 can provide global opportunities for SL: Namal

EXPO 2020 held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) provides an ideal opportunity for Sri Lanka to engage with the global innovation community and exchange knowledge, Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa said yesterday during a stopover at the exhibition. 

Rajapaksa, who in undertaking a visit to the UAE also visited the exhibition which includes a stall representing Sri Lanka. He was welcomed by Sri Lankan officials and given a tour of the exhibition. 

“There is no limit to what a country, that has the right vision, leadership and public support, can achieve. Sri Lanka stands to attract stronger collaborative partners through its engagements at the exhibition,” he said. 

The EXPO was initially planned for 2020 but had to be postponed due to the pandemic. It will run until March 2022. 

Since its inception, Expo 2020 Dubai has been committed to harnessing cutting-edge technology to provide visitors with an enriched experience, both onsite and wherever they may be in the world.

The six-month exhibition is the largest business event to be held since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
