EY Sri Lanka welcomes Talal Rafi

EY Sri Lanka has announced the appointment of economist and global thought leader Talal Rafi as a Director, Business Consulting. 

His expertise in economic policy, public finance, and ESG operations aligns with EY Sri Lanka’s focus on providing future-ready solutions to clients in a rapidly changing world.

Talal’s illustrious career spans contributions as a Consultant at the Asian Development Bank and as a regular columnist for the International Monetary Fund (IMF). As a member of the Expert Network of the World Economic Forum, he has actively shaped global economic discussions while also serving as a member of the Global ESG Operations Team at one of the Big Four. His academic contributions include his role as a visiting lecturer at the Centre for Banking Studies, Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

An advocate for development and entrepreneurship, Talal has contributed to projects led by the World Bank and USAID while also having served on an advisory committee at the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka. He was also a member of the Enterprise Operations Committee at Moratuwa University.

Talal’s leadership and influence extend to his work with the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute, Sri Lanka’s state foreign policy think tank where he served on its board; he was also appointed as an independent non-executive director on the board of Almas Holdings, one of Sri Lanka’s largest asset management firms.

His thought leadership has reached global platforms such as the NASDAQ Centre, S&P Global, and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, with publications featured in renowned institutions including Forbes, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the World Economic Forum, and many more.
