Following an exciting summer edition of Texworld – Apparel Sourcing USA in July 2018, Sri Lanka Chamber of Garment Exporters is organising its first Sri Lankan Pavilion with the representation of eight companies at the first edition of the fair from 21 to 23 January, at Javits Convention Center.
Texworld – Apparel Sourcing USA, is one of the largest sourcing shows on the East Coast, which has positioned itself as a must attend industry event and business platform bringing together the best international apparel fabric, trims and accessory suppliers in the heart of New York City.
Sri Lankan pavilion will be setup with the assistance from Export Development Board of Sri Lanka (EDB) where Haward Fashion, Jia Moda, Jumeirah Lanka, Kash Garments, Perks Clothing, Sarasavi Exports, Screenline and Sun Queen Garment will represent the country at the fair.
The US has been the leading buyer of Lankan exports over the years and it continued its lead even this year. A total of 410 exhibitors participated in Texworld/Apparel Sourcing USA and around 4,700 trade buyers visited both show in January 2018 edition.
One of the key spotlights of this year’s fair would be on ‘sustainability’. Each season, a topic or textile that is significant in the industry is highlighted throughout the show including a featured trend forum, educational components and exhibitor area all surrounding the chosen focus.
The next edition of Texworld/Apparel Sourcing USA for this year will be held from 22 to 24 July, 2019.
Texworld/Apparel Sourcing will also be held from 11 to 14 February, 2019 in Paris, France. Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will be held from 12 to 14 March, 2019. African Sourcing and Fashion Week will be held from 9 to 12 November 2019 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
