FITIS and EY collaborate to host webinar: Technology industry in Sri Lanka post-COVID-19

At ‘new normal’, people and traders are using online platforms to do trading, small traders use messaging platforms, corporates use virtual roundtables to conferences to online meeting platforms to keep things moving, educators do online tutorials, doctors do online channelling, hospitals use robotics to get closer to patients, people use social media to communicate with friends and families, and online banking recommended to help prevent the spread of the epidemic. Amidst all this, as many others, the ICT industry too is one of the most affected due to failure of supply chains, lockdowns, curfews and suspensions imposed over imports to Sri Lanka.

The Federation of Information Technology Industry (FITIS) apex ICT body of Sri Lanka has organised a webinar to discuss ‘Challenges and Opportunities for Technology Industry in Sri Lanka post COVID-19’ with EY as knowledge partner and Softlogic Dell as event partner.  The webinar will be held on Friday, 17 April, 4 p.m. onwards.

The keynote address will be presented by ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) Chairman Jayantha De Silva, followed by a discussion with the expert panel Arjuna Herath, Partner, Head Advisory Services Sri Lanka and Maldives, Ernst & Young, Prof. Lalith Gamage, President and CEO, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), Madu Ratnayake, Chief Information Officer, Virtusa, Dr. Nayana Dehigama, Chairman/Managing Director, EPIC Technology Group, Riza Wadood, Country Manager, IBM, Jiffry Zulfer, Founder and CEO, PickMe, Ginsara Dias, Country Manager – Sri Lanka, HP moderated by Abbas Kamrudeen, Chairman FITIS/Managing Director Debug Group of Companies from IT Consultancy, ICT Education Software Exports, Software Development, Automation, System Integrations, e-commerce and Hardware vendors.
