The Finance Ministry yesterday rolled out software to regulate State services and ensure transparency, including a single-window system for imports which will increase the efficiency of Sri Lanka Customs.
The online tools were developed by the Information Technology Management Department, under the direction of Finance Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, while PEDMINS, a regulatory software, was also launched to improve the assessment and reviewal process at State enterprises.
The salary regulatory software has also been revamped in order to ensure ease of access, while e-services for the sharing of documents will be developed to address delays in State procedures.
Open source software has been used, the Finance Ministry said in a release, adding that the web development took place in-house with the assistance of local Information Technology students and at no additional cost.
