The Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on Monday approved a new framework for selecting investors for the drinking water sector.
The framework, prepared by the Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Facilities Development Ministry was developed under the supervision of a monitoring committee comprising experts in the field, stakeholder agencies and academics.
This newly approved framework is expected to enhance transparency and efficiency in the selection of investors for drinking water projects across the country.
By incorporating input from a wide range of experts and stakeholders, the framework aims to ensure that investment decisions are made in a manner that best serves the long-term needs of water supply infrastructure.
The proposal to implement this selection criteria framework presented by the Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Facilities Development Minister Jeevan Thondaman was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
