Gayani de Alwis appointed to Singer Sri Lanka Board

Top logistics professional Gayani de Alwis has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director to the Board of Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC.

Gayani de Alwis is a leading Supply Chain Professional. She was the former Director, Customer Service and Management Committee member of Unilever Sri Lanka LTD responsible for Supply Chain. She holds a MBA from Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) of University of Sri Jayewardenepura Sri Lanka and MSc from University of Reading, UK.

She is the Chairperson of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and Founding Chairperson and Advisor of Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) Sri Lanka. She is the Global Vice Chairperson of WiLAT responsible for South Asia. She is a Fellow of Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM), Chartered member of CILT and a life member of OPA. 

She is a Board Member of Logicare Ltd., Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WC/C) and CSR Lanka. She is also a member of Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) and is a founding Committee Member of Women Directors Forum (WDF) of SLID. She is a member of CCC National Agenda Committee for Logistics and Transport and Women’s Advisory committee (WAC) member of Ministry of Skills Development, Labour and Vocational Training.

With the latest appointment the Board of Directors of Singer (Sri Lanka) comprises of Chairman Mohan Pandithage, Co-Chairman Dhammika Perera, Group CEO Mahesh Wijewardene, Deepal Sooriyaarachchi, Dumith Fernando, M.H. Jamaldeen, Sarath Ganegoda, Dilip de S. Wijeyeratne and Gayani de Alwis.
