International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) President Asmâa Resmouki will arrive in Sri Lanka on a special invitation extended to her by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).
During her stay in Colombo, Resmouki who is the head of the international body representing the accounting profession across the globe, will also ceremoniously inaugurate the 44th National Conference of Chartered Accountants organised by CA Sri Lanka, on 3 October in Colombo.
The visit of Resmouki to Sri Lanka underscores the strong ties CA Sri Lanka shares with the global accounting body, IFAC, which boasts an impressive network comprising 180 members and associates spanning across 135 countries and jurisdictions, and collectively represents over three million accountants.
Dubbed as Sri Lanka’s biggest annual business summit, the three-day conference is also set to inspire attendees with an electrifying keynote address by Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe. Against a backdrop of eager anticipation, Dr. Weerasinghe will captivate the audience brimming with business luminaries, c-suite executives, and illustrious Chartered Accountants along this year’s theme, “Beyond the Perfect Storm: Seizing the Opportunity.”
The conference at the Monarch Imperial, Sri Jayewardenepura, will conclude on 5 October, following two days of technical sessions featuring an exciting line-up of speakers and panellists of local and international repute. The conference is expected to bring together over 2,000 delegates from Sri Lanka as well as overseas.
CA Sri Lanka is the first accounting body in the country to obtain membership from IFAC in 1978. In its capacity as the National Body of Accountants, CA Sri Lanka has cultivated a deep-rooted and an enduring partnership with IFAC, spanning many decades.
