The Government yesterday announced finalisation of contracts for jet fuel supplies for SriLankan Airlines at 16 international airports.
For proposals called in line with the limited international bidding procedures there had been 52 bids from 12 companies. Of those, 49 bids had accomplished fundamental qualifications. The sole bidder for supplies at Shanghai Pudong International Airport had been rejected.
The Cabinet-appointed standing procurement Committee has finalised the awarding of contracts to qualified selected bidders.
The proposal to this effect tabled by Ports, Shipping and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on Monday.
