Marking a milestone in operational excellence and global trade compliance, Hemas Manufacturing Ltd. has been awarded the ‘Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Tier 1 Certification’, by Sri Lanka Customs, reinforcing its position as a leader in compliance, operational efficiency and global trade facilitation. This achievement places Hemas among an exclusive group of just 48 companies in Sri Lanka to attain this globally recognised certification, underscoring its commitment to best practices in trade and supply chain management. The AEO Tier program, an initiative by the World Customs Organisation (WCO), is a globally recognised framework that validates companies adhering to the highest standards of security, compliance and efficiency in cross-border trade. Certification is granted only after a rigorous verification and validation process conducted by Sri Lanka Customs, ensuring that accredited organisations meet stringent international trade requirements.

Commenting on this achievement, Hemas Consumer Brands Managing Director Sabrina Esufally stated: “The AEO Tier 1 Certification is a testament to our unwavering commitment to compliance, efficiency and global trade excellence. As a company that prioritises operational integrity and customer satisfaction, this certification enhances our ability to deliver seamless and reliable service to our partners worldwide.”

Achieving the AEO Tier 1 Certification provides Hemas with a range of strategic advantages, including expedited customs clearance, reduced operational risks and improved trade facilitation. By streamlining import and export processes, this certification acts as a VIP route or a green channel, ensuring faster and more efficient movement of goods. This milestone further strengthens Hemas’ reputation as a trusted and efficient partner in global trade.

Hemas Consumer Brands Head of Procurement Aruna Sumanathilaka added, “This milestone reflects the dedication and hard work of our teams in upholding international trade standards. Equipped with expedited clearance processes and reduced regulatory hurdles, we are now even better positioned to drive operational efficiency and provide enhanced value to our customers and stakeholders.”

The AEO Tier 1 Certification demonstrates Hemas’ proactive approach to adopting international trade standards, minimising risks and ensuring seamless supply chain operations to add greater value to its service offering.
