Hemas Consumer Brands emerged as the big winner at the National Convention on Quality and Productivity (NCQP) Awards – 2023, organised recently by the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP).
The event aimed to recognise outstanding achievements in quality and productivity within the manufacturing and services sector, under the theme “Sustainable development through innovative quality solutions”.
Competing in the Continuous Improvement category as part of the Cross Functional Teams (CFT), Hemas Consumer Brands secured an impressive 25 awards. The company won 15 Gold Awards, 7 Silver Awards, and 3 Bronze Awards, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to quality and productivity by adopting a Lean Journey. Through our philosophy of continuous improvement, with a focus on ‘Fool-proof’ quality systems and waste elimination, Hemas has empowered teams on the shop floor to innovate and solve problems by challenging the status quo and using a scientific framework.
In Sri Lanka, the NCQP Awards stands out as the sole local accolade exclusively dedicated to recognising non-executive staff. The competition boasted 400 participating teams across various categories this year. The NCQP Awards play a crucial role in promoting Operational Excellence and empowering employees to implement best practices towards a sustainable future. Hemas takes pride in being one of the winners. In the past 12 months, Hemas held an internal competition with 100 teams, and the top 25 teams comprising of non-executive staff earned the privilege to compete in the NCQP Awards.
