ICC Sri Lanka congratulates President Rajapaksa

The International Chamber of Commerce in a statement yesterday congratulated President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on being elected the Seventh President of Sri Lanka.

ICC Sri Lanka Chairman Dinesh Weerakkody issuing a statement said: “As a member of the world’s largest business chamber with over 45 million business organisations around the world, ICCSL looks forward to working with President Rajapaksa and also to implement some of the economic and social development proposals that were shared during the campaign.”

A set of comprehensive policies to stimulate the economy were shared with the presidential candidates prior to the finalising their manifestos. These proposals included setting up of a National Implementation Oversight Committee, Technology and Economic Transformation proposals, improving access to finance for SMEs, Capital Market Development and improving the productivity in the Public Sector.
