Ideal Six wins e-Swabhimani Gold Awards

Ideal Six Ltd., the company which introduced modern waste disposal system using the mobile app to Urban Councils of the Western Province and Embilipitiya, won the e-Swabhimani Gold Awards. Providing opportunity to use mobile apps with the latest technology for the disposal of garbage and waste, this was initially started with Empilipitiya Urban Council and the service is now successfully being implemented in the Western Province.

Initially funded by the United Nations Development Fund (UNDP), the project is to be expanded to the other provinces as ‘Mihisaru’. This will create a proper order to dispose garbage and sewage according to modern methods by giving an opportunity to residents to provide garbage regularly and easily. Also, this service creates a platform to various municipalities and local councils to discuss their other services such as ratings, galvanised services and social issues. 

At the World Summit Awards – 2020 Awards, attended by 110 countries ‘Mihisaru’ was ranked among the last 16 in the Smart Settlement and Urbanisation category and also was the best solution in South Asia. Founder/Director Suresh Madushan said, “Our goal is to bring the Smart City concept forward. We can easily solve the garbage problem if we get the total support from the public sector. And our aim is to extend this mobile app to all parts of the country.”
