Young professional Imran Furkan has been appointed to the Board of Odel PLC as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

Imran is a Fellow of CPA Australia, CIMA UK, has an MBA from Australia, and a BA (Hons) Sustainable Performance Management from the UK.

He advises Boards and CEOs on strategy, market expansion as well as geopolitical, economic, climate and technology risk management.

He is currently serving as CEO of Tresync, Australia. Imran is passionate about one thing – fostering collaboration. Connecting people and businesses together, fostering industry partnerships, and advising on macro socio-economic technological strategy. This is evidenced by his achievements in senior management and board directorship roles in industries such as Finance, Food, Regulatory and Industry Bodies, IT/GBS, Education, Commodities, Media, and Professional Services in the Asia-Pacific region.

He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maharaja Foods PLC, Sri Lanka, The Interfaith Network (IFN), City of Greater Dandenong, Australia, and is Executive Director – Programs, Business Development, and Corporate Services of Wattleshire Ltd., – Australia. He was an Independent Non-Executive Director of Trade Finance and Investments PLC in Sri Lanka.

He also served as the CEO of SLASSCOM and the Sri Lanka Press Institute. Imran has also served on the Director Training Committee and Media and Public Relations Committees of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors.

With the latest appointment the Board of ODEL PLC comprises A.K. Pathirage (Chairman/MD), H.K. Kaimal, Dr. I.C.R. De Silva, R.P. Pathirana and I. Furkan.
