The Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) Secretary General Tuli Cooray has urged all members to ensure their employees’ COVID-19 vaccination cards are saved in ‘digital format’ so they can present them as ‘proof of vaccination’ whenever required.
The digital format has been necessitated to avoid loss of any piece of vital information of the vaccinated employee due to the card being defaced or damaged due to frequent use or to use the virtual card as a back-up in case the card is reported loss, he said
From January all new issues of Ransalu Privilege Cards will have a QR code printed on the front panel and when scanned will show a true image of the COVID-19 vaccination card issued by the medical authorities.
CH17 Loyalty – the administrators of Ransalu Privilege have developed a program that will accommodate this new feature and allow members to upload a JPEG image of their vaccination card to a secure cloud-based portal which will be mapped to the QR Code.
“A smart personal device is not needed to access our program and no downloads are required. One can log in from any device (mobile or desktop/laptop) which has internet access and proceed with the normal protocol,” CH17 Loyalty CEO Jumar Preena said.
“We are not sure how the vaccine card authentication process is supposed to work, but we are making ourselves ready for it,” he added.
The apparel sector is the largest industrial employer which has a combined workforce of around 450,000. This is a significant number and having them on a digital base will encourage employers with large worker databases to follow suit, Jumar said adding “Ours is an open-source program which can be widely used over any type of QR code readers.”
