Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN) will pioneer hosting the first ever Summit on Women’s Leadership in Social Entrepreneurship and Impact investing on 10 April at HATCH This is the first time bringing together emerging women leaders in social entrepreneurship and impact investing for a pragmatic dialogue, engagement, collaboration and possible match-making for partnership between women social entrepreneurs with women impact investors in Sri Lanka.
UN Social Impact Fund Chief Compliance Officer Jenny Chow, a well-respected global leader in the area of impact investing, will bring forth her wider Asian and global expertise in this area, to set the right tone for this inaugural Emerging Women’s Leadership Summit . The key engagement of the summit would be the panel of Sri Lankan women leaders in impact investing: Jetwing Travels Chairperson Shiromal Cooray; young and dynamic women social entrepreneurs Good Market Co-Founder Archala Samaradivakara and Ananta Sustainables CEO Savera Weerasinghe; passionate women empowerment specialist, UNDP Sri Lanka Head of Operations Samantha Gunasekera. The key panel session would be moderated by another dynamic young woman leader with global tract record on social entrepreneurship and social empowerment, Remote Workforce Founder Krystle Reid.
Lanka Impact Investing Network pioneered the creation of the first TV reality show ATH PAVURA for social entrepreneurs and impact investors. ATH PAVURA, co-owned together with Social Enterprise Lanka, has created opportunities for women social entrepreneurs to have access to private equity to drive their enterprises and create impact scalability. From the two seasons, and from all the entrepreneurs’ pitches for investment that the ATH PAVURA TV reality show has given opportunity to, 48% are women social entrepreneurs from all over Sri Lanka.
LIIN has taken this important initiative of hosting this very timely summit under the brand of Emerging Women Summit (EWS), to empower the Sri Lanka women in this emerging and dynamic global social transformation space through social entrepreneurship and impact investing.
