KPMG appoints Pyumi M.K. Sumanasekara as Principal

Sumanasekara who has been associated with the firm for a period of 15 years has been admitted as a principal with effect from 1 April.

Pyumi’s work is focused on helping businesses in streamlining operations and growth and extends to various assurance and advisory projects such as business transformation, risk identification, policy development, sustainability assurance and process and internal control improvements. And she comes with work experience in markets such as UK and on projects in several countries in Europe, Middle East, South Asia, Africa and a few cities in the US.

She was the Youngest Chartered Accountant of Sri Lanka in 2008, now a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Sri Lanka (FCA), an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK (ACMA), holds a Masters in Arts (Financial Economics) from the University of Colombo and is a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). 

Pyumi’s journey with KPMG includes her long-term secondment with the KPMG UK in Financial Services practice.
