Kotagala Plantations’ Mount Vernon Estate wins Govt. Star Award

The Government Star Award Ceremony was organised by the Department of Industries Development and Enterprise Promotion under the guidance of the Ministry of Industries. The award ceremony took place on 12 February at the Grand Kandyan Hotel in Kandy.

The awards were aimed at felicitating the Best Performed Manufacturing Factories and the Entrepreneurs who had contributed to the growth of the country’s economy by efficiently identifying and utilising local resources whilst minimising the unemployment rate.

The Government identified and felicitated Mount Vernon Estate of Kotagala Plantations PLC which is a subsidiary company of the Lankem Tea & Rubber Ltd. Group, as the best performed property for the year 2020. Mount Vernon Estate also went ahead to further bag three awards as listed below:

Best Three Star Factory Award – Under Large Scale Manufacturing Category

Best Young Entrepreneur for the Year 2020
