The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka together with Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait are planning to conduct an online business forum and B2B meetings to develop trade between Sri Lanka and Kuwait on Monday, 6 December from 12:30 p.m. (Sri Lanka time) onwards.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the State of Kuwait Mohammed Jauhar, Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Mohmmad Jassem Al-Sager, National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka President Nandika Buddhipala, Sri Lanka Export Development Board Chairman and Chief Executive Suresh De Mel, and Board of Investment of Sri Lanka Chairman Sanjaya Mohottala would be the key speakers of the event and there will be a presentation by the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (TBC).
The National Chamber has already signed an MoU with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote bilateral trade and investment relations between the two countries.
The business sectors such as agriculture and food processors, dairy and livestock, gem and jewellery, ports and shipping, textiles and apparels, and transport and automobile industries, are expected to participate at the online session.
B2B meetings will be conducted for interested business persons in both countries at the end of the abovementioned business forum.
