L.R.D.C. gets six-month contract to provide security services to institutions under Health Ministry

The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday approved awarding a six-month contract to L.R.D.C. Ltd. for the provision of security services to hospitals and other institutions under the Health Ministry, effective from 1 October. 

The move follows the recommendation of the Standing Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet.

The procurement process included bids from several organisations, including Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Ltd., L.R.D.C. Ltd., the Civil Security Department, and regional entities such as the Regional Economic Development Institution under the Central Provincial Council and the North Western Province Human Resource Development Authority.

L.R.D.C. Ltd. submitted bids to provide security services for hospitals across the relevant Provinces under the Health Ministry’s control and the Regional Economic Development Institution will be responsible for security services in hospitals under the Central Provincial Council.

The proposal to this effect, submitted by the Prime Minister in her capacity as the Health Minister, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
