Lasith Wimalasena appointed CEO of WindForce Ltd.

WindForce Ltd., a leading renewable energy development company in Sri Lanka, has announced the appointment of Lasith Wimalasena as the Chief Executive Officer of the Company. He joined WindForce Ltd. as its Chief Operating Officer in 2013. The company owns, develops and operates over 200MW of wind, solar and hydro power plants in Sri Lanka and overseas.

Wimalasena is a proactive, performance-driven professional with 24 years of progressive expertise working on projects in the power sector, in manufacturing and in corporate environments. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours Degree with specialisation in Chemistry from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

He commenced his career at LTL Transformer/LTL Galvanizers Ltd., where he held a number of senior management roles. Commenting on Wimalasena’s appointment, WindForce Managing Director Manjula Perera said, “The Board is delighted with the appointment of Mr. Wimalasena and confident of him leading the company to greater heights.”
