Launch of “National Business Excellence Awards 2024”

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka takes pleasure in announcing the “National Business Excellence Awards 2024”, for the 19th consecutive year. The flagship event will be held on Thursday, 14 December, 2023 at 3 pm. at the National Chamber Auditorium, Colombo 10. 

As a pioneering awards competition initiated by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, as far back as 2004, the National Business Excellence Awards (NBEA), has maintained the highest standards and gained much recognition among the business community that contributes to economic development with exemplary business practices and governance.

The structure of the evaluation process of NBEA is focused more towards emerging trends such as, adoption of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), transforming nature of workplace, getting attracted to trusted, ethical, environmentally friendly, socially responsible sound governance structure (ESG). The organisation’s endeavour to be more aligned towards creating long term sustainability and value for society and not restricting to a selected few are among some of the vital aspects incorporated into the structure of the application process.  The competition comprises categories of: Extra Large, Large, Medium, Small and Micro – and diversified industry sectors:  it also creates the opportunity for 29 industry sectors to secure awards, category-wise or on evaluation criteria.

A total of 92 awards will be presented to the winners this year (NBEA 2024), including overall excellence winners of Gold, Silver and Bronze. The evaluations will be carried out initially by a technical and financial panel followed by the panel of judges. The shortlisted applications will be reviewed and interviewed by a panel of judges to ascertain the best business entities as award winners. The awards ceremony will be held in June 2024 at the Shangri-La Hotel.
