At this week’s Electronic Tea Auctions, an invoice of the BOP grade from Mahaliyadda Tea Factory, in Udugama – Galle, realised Rs. 1,450 per kilo, which is now the all-time record for a Low Grown elevation BOP grade.
This tea was purchased by Shan Teas Ltd., whilst the sale was handled by Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd. Mahaliyadda factory is managed by Chanaka Seneviratne, a second-generation factory owner.
