Mahendra Engineering wins Businessman of the Year Platinum Award at BWIO Awards

Mahendra Engineering Ltd., a pioneer in providing architectural and structural designs, bills of quantities (BOQs), valuations and all types of other engineering services, reaffirms its excellence by winning the Businessman of the Year Platinum Award at the Business World International Awards. 

Organised by Business World International, the awards ceremony was held under the patronage of Irrigation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa and former President Maithripala Sirisena at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo recently. In addition to the recent Gold Award, Mahendra Engineering has won dozens of awards at a number of prestigious awards ceremonies such as the Janabhimani Honorary Awards 2019 and Business World International Awards 2020. 

The Chairman and Managing Director of the company Ravi Naggarajah, said that they had met many challenges on the way and stood the test to take Mahendra Engineering to the present position where it stands. “Bringing the company to where it is today was possible because we had a dedicated team of engineers, support staff and skilled workers whom I salute for their untiring work for the company. With the invaluable support of the dedicated team, we have now grown to design and produce prefabricated steel structures for all applications not only locally, but overseas too,” he mentioned. 

He received the Lanka Deshamanya title last November. Mahendra Engineering was established in 1994 for the purpose of providing services to the tea industry of Sri Lanka. The company initially manufactured high quality tea dryers, axial flow fans, conveyors, withering troughs which led to a landmark improvement of existing designs at the time. Mahendra Engineering was also the first to introduce a colour sorting machine for the rice mills locally from Anzai Manufacturing Company, Japan which has now become a very high-tech sophisticated machine in the country.
