Shippers’ Academy Colombo CEO Rohan Masakorala with CBSL Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe and Australian High Commissioner Paul Stephens
The Governor’s Challenge Trophy (GCT), the prestigious mind sports quiz which was launched in 2011 by the Shippers’ Academy Colombo together with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) with an objective to promote capacity building through knowledge and skills via teamwork will be held for the 5th time.
The event is back after a five-year lapse. The biennial event will be held on 28 August at the Galadari Hotel, said Shippers’ Academy Colombo (SAC) CEO Rohan Masakorala.
The Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe will be the chief guest of the event while Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Paul Stephens will be the guest of honour.
The defending champions Seylan Bank will be joined by close to 40 teams from corporate and public institutions to contest the mind sports trophy on the subject areas of global commerce which will be conducted by International Quizzing Association -IQA (Sri Lanka branch) under quiz master Ruwan Senanayake.
