Mobitel sponsors NCE Export Awards for 27th consecutive year

The 28th Annual Export Awards of the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE), which exclusively serves Sri Lanka exporters will be held on 21 November at the Ballroom of Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo. 

The NCE Export Awards serves to recognise and reward the achievements of Sri Lankan exporters of products and services in the international market. The event has achieved national significance over the years due to its elite standard of conduct and professionalism. 

The NCE Export Awards is the most looked forward to event in the corporate calendar, especially by the exporter community. Hitherto it has been attended by an audience of over 750 participants, comprising the cream of the business community especially exporters, the diplomatic corps, high State officials, the political leadership, and special invitees.  As the National Mobile Service Provider, Mobitel Ltd. has been supporting the Chamber as the main partner since 1993, enabling the business communities to reach their fullest potential through its products and services. The partnership of Mobitel Ltd. with the NCE relates not only to the Annual Export Awards, but also shields other export related events in recognition of the contribution of the Chamber to the economic development of the country.  The Chamber has been able to conduct the Annual Export Awards at a high level of integrity and professionalism, with glitter and glamor, due to the support received from sponsors over the years led by Mobitel Ltd. thereby propelling the development and expansion of Sri Lanka’s exports and the vital contribution made for the economic development of the country. 

The event this year is of Special significance related to the immense challenges faced by Sri Lankan exporters due to COVID-19, adversely impacting the domestic economy, as well as the recessionary conditions in external markets. In this context, this year the event offers an opportunity for Sri Lankan exporters to demonstrate to overseas buyers their achievements, as well as their capacity to face challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic. Thereby they would be able to instill confidence in prospective buyers in regard to their standing as worthy business partners. The theme of the event this year which is ‘Resilient Exporters’ also drives home this message.
