More records tumble at tea eAuction

At sale No. 13 of the second e-Auction held on 16/17 April in the Uva high category, an invoice of OP from Veralapatna Estate sold under the Uvakellie selling mark was purchased at a record price of Rs. 810 per kg by Vintage Teas Ltd. Uvakellie is part of Madulsima Plantations PLC.

Uva High has another record of Finlays Tea Estates PLC’s, Oodoowerre Estate achieved a record price of Rs. 980 per kg for the FBOPF1 grade, bought by Akbar Brothers Ltd. In the Uva Medium category Dickwella Estate FBOPF1 sold at a record price of Rs. 1,000 per kg. This tea was purchased by Ceylon Tea Marketing Ltd. Dickwella is part of Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC.
