In a bid to boost the bilateral trade and investment between Sri Lanka and Australia, the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will hold a discussion today (24) at the Chamber Auditorium - No. 450, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10.
The session’s special guest speaker will be High Commissioner of Australia to Sri Lanka Paul Stephens, and a commercial counsellor will provide support.
Further, Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Australia Chitranganee Wagiswara is also expected to connect virtually during the event to greet the gathering and to speak briefly.
The overall purpose of this meeting is to discuss the current trade environment, investment opportunities, services, policies and other important information to promote and strengthen bilateral trade and investment between Sri Lanka and Australia.
The participants will get an opportunity to have a close dialogue with the High Commissioner of Australia.
Sri Lanka’s Main Exports to Australia: Apparel, Tea packets, tea in bulk Tea bagging, packing, cleaning, weighing machines, Industrial and surgical gloves of rubber, Pneumatic and retreated rubber tires and tubes, Coconut oil, coconut cream, desiccated coconut, coconut milk powder, Miscellaneous edible preparations, Coco peat, fibre pith and moulded products, Made-up textile articles, Electrical and electronic products, Glass and glassware, Wall tiles, Mattresses and mattress supporters, Jewellery, Activated carbon, Frozen fish and Toys, games and sport requisites etc.
Sri Lanka’s Main Imports from Australia are Cereals and its products, Lentils, Cowpea, Meat, preparations of meat/fish and dairy produce, Paper and paper products, Petroleum gases, Miscellaneous edible preparations, Paints, varnishes and dyeing extracts, Electrical and electronic products, Refined copper and lead alloys, Fruits, Pharmaceutical products, Sugars, sugar confectionery and bakery products, Perfumes, cosmetics, shampoos and makeup preparations, Telephone sets, audio/video equipment, Woven fabrics, Switches, boards and panels, Products of base metal, Animal feed, Starches, glues, enzymes and Scrap of ferrous, aluminium, copper and other metals
