NCCSL’s  “South Africa – Sri Lanka Bilateral Trade and Investment session” today

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will hold a discussion on bilateral trade and investment between Sri Lanka and South Africa on Thursday, 20 July 2023 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. at its auditorium, No. 450, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10. 

South Africa High Commissioner Sandile Edwin Schalk will be the Special Guest Speaker and the session will be assisted by Commercial Counsellor. 

The participants will get an opportunity to have a close dialogue with the High Commissioner of South Africa. 

The overall purpose of this meeting is to discuss the current trade environment, investment opportunities/services, policies and other important information with the view to promote and strengthen bilateral trade and investment between Sri Lanka and South Africa.

Sri Lanka’s Main Exports to South Africa are Tea, apparel, retreaded or used pneumatic tyres, activated carbon, other vegetable textile fibres, crepe rubber, other articles of vulcanised rubber, articles of apparel and clothing, new pneumatic tyres of rubber etc.

Sri Lanka’s Main Imports from South Africa are Bituminous coal, iron and steel; articles of iron and steel, diamonds, organic chemicals, copper, plants and parts of plants, beverages, spirits and vinegar, seeds, fruit and spores, maize, oranges fresh etc.
