The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will hold a one-day workshop titled “Understand Your Market Competition and Consumer: Market Research Insights and Analytics for Business Competitiveness” on Thursday, 7 October, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the National Chamber Auditorium.
It will empower participants with vital market research skills, helping them understand customer behaviour, identify new market opportunities, and optimise marketing strategies. Through practical applications and real-world insights, participants will learn to design, measure, and interpret marketing performance to drive ROI and improve business competitiveness.
The NCCSL said enhancing knowledge about market research is imperative for any organisation, as research insights provide vital inputs to make informed decisions. Market research can help businesses with many benefits i.e., understand customer attitudes, motivations, opinions, and behaviours, identify new market opportunities, emerging trends, and changing consumer needs, and create customer personas which can help businesses decide which products or services will appeal to their customers and which demographics and market segments are most likely to use their products or services.
It is also an essential part of the research and development (R&D) stage for new products and services where organisations often conduct extensive market research before launching a new product or service to determine acceptance. Research helps evaluate customer feedback in terms of products and services and continually improve service standards.
Resource Team Lead Waruna Kathriarachchi, a market research expert and a former Nielsen Sri Lanka Director, will lead the session, sharing insights from his over 25 years of research and analytics experience across multiple industries including FMCG, Telecom, and Finance.
This workshop is tailored for entrepreneurs looking to expand their market insights, marketing, brand management, and business development executives, Kay account managers and brand managers, and marketing managers and strategists.
The program includes: Introduction to Market Research Process; Key Aspects Of Market Research: Customer Experience, Product and Distribution Research, and New Business Opportunities; Market Research Design and Sampling Methods; Practical Sessions on Questionnaire Design and Data Analysis; Emerging Methods and Ethical Considerations in Market Research.
