NCE enters into MoU with Expack Corrugated Cartons as strategic packaging partner

MOU signing with EXPACK 

Expack Corrugated Cartons Ltd., Sri Lanka’s leading carton manufacturer and marketer of printed corrugated cartons, has joined hands with the NCE, as the strategic packaging partner of the Chamber.

The MoU has been signed for a period of one year from May 2019 at the NCE Secretariat. NCE will engage in activities to create awareness about Expack and its products to member exporters of the Chamber. Expack will also be sponsoring the 27th NCE Annual Export Awards 2019, the flagship event of the Chamber.

Expack Corrugated Cartons Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Aberdeen Holdings Ltd., was established in 1998. The Company manufactures and markets printed corrugated cartons, according to individual specifications of Exporters and domestic users, exceeding customer expectations by delivering quality products on time. The company is ISO 9001-2008, ISO 14001-2004, WRAP certified, and has won several prestigious Awards. 

The main line of business of Expack is the manufacture of corrugated cartons conforming to a range of specifications. Expack works in partnership with customers to develop their corrugated carton packages, and takes a project from conception, design, and proto-typing, to high volume production.

Expack expanded its operations in 2007 by acquiring a land four acres in extent in an industrial zone, installing state-of-the-art fully automated machinery, which resulted a larger market share among the large exporters, including the member companies of the NCE, and Presidential Export Award Winners. The comprehensive computerised manufacturing, and Stock Management Systems of Expack coupled with extensive storage facilities, allows just-in-time supply, in terms of scheduled deliveries. Distribution of products is carried out through its own fleet of vehicles giving complete control of delivery throughout Sri Lanka with assured on-time prompt delivery. 

Further Expack from its inception, has heavily invested in the continuous training and development of its staff, and workers who have been with the company from its inception. Expack also provides facilities such as free meals, transport and essential provisions at subsidised cost, which has ensured employee retention. 

The current portfolio of customers of Expack includes the segments of FMCG, pharmaceuticals, tea exporters, food manufacturers, garments and accessories, fruits and vegetables, bicycle manufacturers, and sea food producers to name a few.

Apart from the traditional manufacture of corrugated cartons, Expack is venturing into a whole new range of innovative storage solutions for the garment industry, as well as in paper based environmentally, and eco-friendly warehousing accessories.
