The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) recently organised a workshop titled “Implementing a Kaizen Program in Your Organisation,” which highlighted the importance of Kaizen implementation for continual improvement in enhancing productivity.
The workshop was led by esteemed expert on Japanese productivity techniques and a strong advocate for Kaizen in Sri Lanka Sunil G. Wijesinha. It drew significant attendance from senior management and professionals focused on driving operational efficiency and fostering a Kaizen culture within their organisations.
Wijesinha, a past president of the National Chamber of Commerce, and former Chairman of JASTECA Trust, was recently honoured by the Japanese Government with the ‘Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays’ for his contributions to fostering Japanese-Sri Lankan relations through Kaizen and other Japanese management methodologies. He has also received the APO Regional Award for his efforts to promote productivity in the Asia-Pacific region.
The workshop provided valuable insights into the Kaizen philosophy and fundamentals, fostering a Kaizen culture, factors contributing to Kaizen’s success and sustainability, and the Kaizen suggestion scheme. Attendees gained practical knowledge on implementing continual improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste in their organisations.
