National Chamber of Commerce hosts knowledge sharing session by Prof. Patrick Mendis on Friday

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will hold an exclusive knowledge sharing session, titled “The Power of Geopolitics and Its Implications for Sri Lanka’s National Development”, presented by the distinguished Prof. Patrick Mendis on 17 January 2025 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the National Chamber Auditorium, No. 450, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10. 

Prof. Patrick Mendis is a Presidential Adviser to the National Security Education Board of the US Department of Defence, White House, USA. Prof. Mendis is a Sri Lankan-born US diplomat and a former military professor at NATO and the Indo-Pacific Command. 

Author of over 300 books, journal articles, and newspaper columns, Prof. Mendis is a sought-after speaker on geopolitics and geoeconomics. He has worked in and travelled to over 140 countries – including China, India, Japan, and South Korea. Prof. Mendis has established scholarships at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the University of Minnesota, and Harvard University.  

The session intends to be a valuable platform to explore Sri Lanka’s position in the ever-evolving geopolitical landscape and discuss strategies to harness global opportunities for national development. 

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka invites policymakers, business leaders, academics, and professionals to join this session to gain actionable insights into the global forces shaping Sri Lanka’s future.
