The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will hold a discussion on Sri Lanka and Thailand bilateral trade and investment on Thursday 27 October from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at its Auditorium, No. 450, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10.
Thailand Ambassador Poj Harnpol will be the Special Guest Speaker and the session will be assisted by Acting Director Thai Trade Centre – Commercial Section of Royal Thai Consulate General in Chennai Kanyawan Suebsing.
Participants will get an opportunity to have a close dialogue with the Ambassador of Thailand.
The overall purpose of this meeting is to discuss the current trade environment, investment opportunities/services, policies and other important information with the view to promote and strengthen bilateral trade and investment between Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Sri Lanka’s major exports to Thailand are precious stones (other than diamonds) and semi-precious stones, knitted or crocheted fabrics, wheat or meslin flour, printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry, crustaceans electrical capacitors, fixed, variable or adjustable (pre-set), apparel, activated carbon, medical or surgical instruments, diamonds, miscellaneous articles of base metal, etc.
Sri Lanka’s major imports from Thailand are plastics and articles thereof, smoked sheet rubber, nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances, fish, dried, salted or in brine, knitted or crocheted fabrics, natural rubber, white crystalline cane sugar, portland cement, iron and steel, man-made filament, self-propelled bulldozers, angledozers, graders, levellers, scrapers, mechanical shovels, excavators, man-made staple fibres, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, other than crude, residues and waste from the food industries, prepared animal fodder, preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk, etc.
