With Sri Lanka’s economy heavily dependent on the growth and success of the small and medium scale sector (which drives over 50% of the economy), PIM, a pioneer in management education in Sri Lanka and Commercial Bank, a leading financial giant, is on a mission to empower the small-scale women entrepreneurs to grow their business models and uplift them from the current challenges they face.
The partnership that has been in operation for over a year was renewed recently at the Commercial Bank Head Office with the view of extending the benefit that the small-scale women entrepreneurs receive.
Since 2022, over five programs have been carried out with the aim of providing the entrepreneurs with knowledge and skill in the areas of business development, finance management, sales growth, HR basics and negotiation skills. The entrepreneurs range from those running salons, small villas, food business, leather products and a plethora of other different industries.
The participants appreciated the guidance as well as the personalised attention given via this program to the participants. The faculty consists of PIM lecturers as well as alumni members with an entrepreneurial background to give them practical and latest knowledge and insights on how to grow their business ventures. More programs are planned for Ratnapura and Negombo business areas via this partnership.
