Queensberry Estate, Kataboola, situated in the Dimbula planting district, achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 1,040 per kg for a BOPSP grade in the Western High Grown category at the weekly online tea auctions held on 8-9 March.
This surpasses their own record of Rs. 1,000 per kg set for the same grade at the auction held on 1 February.
This estate is situated at an elevation of 1,300 metres above sea level and has maintained a consistent standard over the years with ISO 22000:2018 and Rainforest Alliance certification for manufacturing high-quality orthodox leafy tea in the respective region.
This estate is managed by Kahawatte Plantation PLC under the stewardship of Director Plantations Chaminda Gunarathna and Estate Manager Prageeth Wanigasekera.
